907s with Cylinder Head work from the factory

Post by du907 »

Just for discussion.
Does anyone have any information about the few 907s that came from the factory with polished intake and exhaust ports and basically the work most machine shops would do to the heads?
I have seen some posts on this topic a few times and was wondering if any new information had surfaced?

I have one of them. I had my engine rebuilt a couple of years ago and the shop called me after tearing the engine down and asked me if I had had the engine apart before and had the heads worked on. I told them that the engine had never been taken apart before. He stated that the heads had pretty much had all the things done to them that he would be doing.

I then started doing some research and a few things turned up but not much. Winter time and don't have much to do inside. :)

Interesting, first I've heard of it. Was the press fleet tweaked? Could it be one of those?

At that time, Ducati was nearly a craftsmanlike factory.
So, here and there such stories pop out.
Paso 750 had a little series built with ported heads and special exhaust.
For the 907, I don't know.
