750 Sport swingarm crack

Post by deswoodau »

I'm aware this topic has probably come up many times however I considered myself one of the lucky owners.......not this time.

I was doing some cosmetic work over the weekend and after 12 years ownership I found a crack on the mounting bracket. Does anyone know of a good engineering group in Melbourne \ Vic whom could repair it for me?

One of the shock mounting brackets has a hairline crack. My thoughts are to grind them both off and have stronger plates re fitted but I'll let the engineer decide on the best approach. The bike is too nice to part out or give up on :(

I have my bike getting the header and a standard exhaust modified to fit. I''l have a chat with Carl (who's doing the work) in the next couple of days and see what he reckons. Have a look at Tig Tag Fabrication, thats his place. As he has my bike I will be able to show him an actual swingarm and where your issues are.
