left hand fuel cock/pet cock
left hand fuel cock/pet cock
In the process of cleaning the tank on my 750 Paso I lost my fuel cock - dumb move - Has anyone had any luck finding OEM on substitute fuel cock? On http://www.pingelonline.com has a model # 6311 cr round valve - does anyone know if that model will work?

If your located in north america I would suggest Columbia Car and Cycle in Nakusp, B.C. Although Wolfgang Haerter is a Laverda specialist, he has lots of generic Italian parts. You can call him at 250-265-4502. I bought one for my paso from him 2 weeks ago and it was $20. I asked for a left fuel tap with the outlet facing forward and it had a black plastic lever which was lucky because I had to trim 1/2 the lever off so I could turn it once it was installed (to clear the sloping frame rail)
Hope this helps.

RL,
Actually your info helps quite a bit, I wound up ordering a Paioli from Bevel Heaven and it sounds very similar to what you have - Do you know if the part you got was a Paioli?

Does anyone know - will a 900SS fuel cock # 58840051A replace the original Paso 750 fuel cock # 000045184?

THANKS MUCH!!!
I made the purchase of two (2). A replacement and a spare.
Funny thing the shipping cost $ more than the parts.
Best,

20,
Can you let us know how the plastic gasket works out? At least it looks plastic on their website photo. The fiber gasket on mine is shot and Bevel Heaven set me up with a plastic gasket of similar dimensions which looks a lot like the one on the website photo.

whitepaso,
I received the fuel cocks today 5/1/2013, the part number listed on the package is #800045184 the description is 750 Paso M12x1.
Unfortunately it’s the wrong part. The fastener nut size is smaller then what’s required to fit my gas tank.
I compared it to Ducati part number #58840051A for a 900ss it’s the same size as the ss part. Not good for me!!
To comment on the plastic or nylon gasket it’s made of a heavy material and it appears as if would be an adequate replacement for fiber.

Re: left hand fuel cock/pet cock
I have replaced those plastic gaskets with an O ring as I have found that its far easier to get a good seal without having to tighten that "double threaded " nut thing to tight . The threads on my Guzzi tank were quite corroded/pitted and sharp, and they were chewing away the thread in the nut so in the end I glued the nut onto the tank and by using a thick(ish ) O ring I was able to get the tap to face the right way and seal properly ( the sealing surface on the tank spigot was also a bit rooted )whitepaso wrote:20,

That's a disappointing delivery! I think the thread size is 16mm on the tank, if that helps. Keep us posted on what you come up with.
