Hi all, I have'nt posted for a while. I just had a new set of the Shinko tires mounted. The mechanic had to shave the drive side side wall as others have said. All looks good but I won't be riding for a few months as I live in the norh of the US. I'm looking forward to testing the tires out.

I went skiing in NZ during the early 90s and you had 8 metres of snow on Mt Hutt...the snow level was up to the top of lift towers...they had to dig trenches for the lifts to operate

It's this simple, put tire on rim, remount on bike (yes chain and all), wait dont take bike off of rear stand yet.... get out regular old trusty angle grinder like this one - http://www.makita.com/en-us/Modules/Too ... ?ID=316402 Have a friend ect... spin tire by hand at an even and consistent speed while you grind off enough rubber to stop the tire from contacting the chain, (yes just use the normal freaking grinding disk.... yes the flat surface of it you douchebag) then grind off a little bit more just because I said so. By the way if you and your friend are dumb enough to do this without eye protection on good, maybe you will learn that you should by losing a freaking eye.
Now take bike off stand, put on your riding gear and ride the damn thing.... no don't bother looking at the thing again and re over thinking it, just lube and adjust chain, and keep proper air pressure in the tire.... if it rubs a little so what that will keep that side of the chain clean. JUST LEAVE IT ALONE NOW UNTIL THE TIRE WEARS OUT.

So in short only these things are needed -
1. New Shinko 757 180/60-16R
2. Rear stand
3. Angle grinder with grinding wheel
4. Common Sense

I understand that some may be offended by this post, those will be the same ones who do not have #4 in the above list. My suggestion to them is to sell all motorized transport in there possession and utilize mass transit as a favor to the rest of us, and for the saftey of society in general

I just read on another forum (Concours.org)that 757s have been recalled and that "757s won't be back in production...the replacement tire is a SE790 Journey"...??

Back on the tire topic. Here are some pictures of the my newly mounted tires. I tried to show the clearence of the chain to the tire but it doesn't show real good. Also the front fender was raised slightly for the new front tire. There is also more lean when on the side stand due to the taller rubber as has been discused earlier. A simple alturnative for new tires.

Beautiful, do you plan to put an extension on the foot of the stand? I haven't yet but suppose I should put that on my list of things to do this spring. Or maybe just put the center stand back on......

Hi Hardo,
If you want you can show up ones, and I can give you details. I did the conversion one year ago on my paso 750 and it works perfect (see pics on page 4). I ones started a documentation to put it here on the webside. But had no time to finish it (to much work). Few month ago could get a cheap and nice 906. I will do the conversion on it soon. If you are one's near Bern let me know. If i don't mistake I've sent you my coordinates already.
