Re: Front axle alignment issue

Yeah it'll be the stand compressing one fork more than the other. Stands that locate under the steering stem are the way to go. Then you can pull your forks out easily to work on them etc. Worth investing in. Another way round this would be to winch the front of the bike up with a rope/strop around ...

The jaw is 75mm long and 6mm thick on the flat side and 5mm thick on the top and bottom wings. The swing arm height is 50mm neat so it needs clearance on the internal dimension to fit over that. HTH

Re: Weber Carb settings

700 bucks ! far canal ! did he gold plate it ? No but he did bead blast it! Theres was heaps wrong with it, a lot of bits replaced and time spent on it. It came back looking like new. Re: Weber Carb settings

Hey Pete, I had a weber specialist overhaul my carb but it's still fluffy and hesitant getting back on the gas coming out of a corner. They suggested increasing the size of the pump jet but it turned out the previous owner had already done that tricks so I actually decreased it to a .35 (I think .25...

Re: Sport 750 exhaust for RWC

Heck that is picky for old classic racers. A lot of guys would be in the same boat surely? My 2 into 1 muffler is marked 'Nevva Rust' but a google search doesn't bring anything up. We are still lucky here in the South island of NZ with regard to track regs, no BS rules about what you can run or nois...

Rodger that. Once I've got the valves done I'll fire it up with the clutch out and see what I can see.

Re: Dry clutch?

Cheers for the info mate. It wasn't sticky, more like years of dry baked on clutch dust. The reason I went in there was because at my last track meeting before winter a rider fell in front of me and I ended up riding off track to avoid him and into the gravel trap and the bike ended up on its side. ...

Re: Dry clutch?

Well I finally got back to working on the bike after a four month hiatus over winter. First thing I did was rip out the clutch and yes, it is a dry clutch. Funny, I've never heard it rattling away like some of them do. Both the fiber plates and the steels look pretty good so will give them a sand up...

Good to hear you beat it - literally! A rattle gun is a good option too. Can't beat a bit of shock therapy

Re: New Ducati Sport Owner Melbourne AUS.

Welcome to the forum Pete. Post us up a pic or two of your new steed if you get a chance. I have an '88 model myself that I'm turning (very slowly!) into a race bike for the classics class. Those brake calipers of yours are ideally going to need to be pulled apart and completely cleaned and may as w...

Dry clutch?

Am I correct in assuming the clutch runs in a dry compartment on the 750 sport? I ask this because on the wkd my bike ended up on its side after a rider came off in front of me and I had to take evasive action, initially on to the grass but ended up in the gravel trap which is harder to keep it upri...
