but mostly Im on my old Suzuki quad for getting around the village and fishing / firewood trips to the river ( 500m away ) , not a bike but you can still get bounced off or rolled over if you get a bit carried away , and it seems part submarine when it comes to crossing the river .
Right at the mo I have peeps telling me I shouldnt be doing most of the things I do , seems people with a shortage of legs should just give up and Pay someone else to do the work ( Im building a new shed (6 x 3 m2 ) to put my bikes and stuff in while I re roof my main shed (11 x 6m2) . A 6m hunk of 8 x 2 pine is a bit hard to handle but I just figure a way . Stuff takes a bit longer to do but I get there .
Di had a bad car crash a year ago and is only now getting back to normal ( we now have nearly matching metal work in hips and legs ) so without my main helper things have been a bit slow .
In a nutshell I (we ) are a long way from getting old
Im pleased to hear you guys are still doin it on two wheels
Happy new year
Hamish

Hey there Higgy, I’m not a long term regular like you stalwarts of this forum but at 66 I’m still loving my 907ie along with a ‘11 Hyper and ‘18 R1200RT.
Many thanks to you and your ilk on this forum.
I hope to meet you at Gathering of the Nortons this year.

Had the 906 booked in for its mot last friday, sadly had to cancel, the wife needed to go to hospital, she slipped on ice and damaged a disc in her back, test was rebooked for tomorrow but will have to cancel as have to dig a hole to bury the cat, tried to get that done today but ground was too frozen under snow. So going to have to keep using the Bonneville for a week or so....
Her majesty is coming home on tuesday, and on wednesday think I am going to look at buying a Guzzi, if the owner can get home through the snow.
As far as cold and age ( 67) has affected me I had to stop riding kickstarted bikes for a month or so because of sciatica and the snow for the most part is not above the front wheel spindle yet. Having to manouver tall heavy bikes is getting to be a worry, if i have to move them far, struggle to catch my breath and picking one up would be a problem

Oh you will like the Guzzi then , coz with a set of head protectors fitted they stop when the protector hits the deck (and damage was minimal

) dun it twice now .
The trick is to let it go before you put your back out trying to save it , specially if its falling away from you..... as they nearly always do
I am sorry to hear your Mrs is injured .... and the cat . We have 2
