Hi guys , I’ve just signed up. I’m a 55 year-old rider from New Zealand. I’ve been riding bikes since I was about 10 years old and racing them for the last nine years but I won’t bore you with all of that. Ducati wise, I have owned previously a 1977 900 SD Bevel Drive and a 1993 750 SS.
Recently I have decided to get into a spot of classic racing so I needed a bike that was pre-1989 vintage. I managed to pick up a very rough 1988 750 sport locally for a reasonable price. The motor is sound and the frame straight so the important bits get a tick in the box. I’ve been doing some reading on here about the Weber carburettor and have just sent it away to a Weber specialist in Auckland to get it refurbished. It’s going to be a slow process working my way through the different parts of the bike that need attention but I have the time and the enthusiasm! I am an engineering machinist by trade. I’m sure I will have some questions for you in time. Meanwhile I’ll tack on a couple of pics of the bike, cheers.Image[/img]
