Marzocchi M1R problem

Hi!
After "resurrecting" my 907 with new tires -Metzeler Z8 Interact- which are marvelous and makes the 907 a very agile bike now.
The only problem (afer about a year not moving too much) the M1R has almost no damping anymore.
No matter what setting; 1 to 4 (or whatever setting) doesn´t change too much.
But the fork is not leaking at all!
Last oil / sealing change is much more than 5 years ago though...
Has anyone of you had such an experiance?
Is it just the oil gone bad?
