E Prom-ECU Replacement

I have a 907ie with a P7 ECU which was running fine with a Baines Racing Chip.
I swapped the Baines E Prom for a new old stock standard chip from Gowanloch Ducati but the Fuel Pump failed to function.
It is possible I may have put the E Prom in the wrong way round at first but it is definitely the right way round now and the fuel pump still does not come on with ignition .

would inserting the chip the wrong damage the E Prom?
would inserting the chip the wrong way round damage the ECU?

I am currently waiting for a new EProm from Carmo Electronics but will be reluctant to fit it .

Please let me know if you have a good understanding

you would not be the first to blow out the fuel pump circuit in these control units. Damage is generally easy to find and can be repaired.

Thanks Higgy,

Is there anyone in the UK you would recommend for ECU testing/diagnostics?

I am in the US so no idea who might be able to do it in the UK

there are several members here in your area should have the answer for you.

just have to wait a week or two for them to stop in and see your request.

Its not a big job as they generally blow in the same spot. Just a matter of repairing the blown pathway with a new wire.

I have a picture around here somewhere of the spot that blows. When I run across it I'll post it here.

Also be sure to make sure your connector is making good contact with the ECU before you send the ECU out for repair. Wires have been known to back out of the connector which will give the same symptom.

Yes.
No.

.Put it in the wrong way and it will either not work properly (runs the pump continuously) or blow the eprom up.

What happens when you put in the Baines chip correctly (see my link)?
