It jammed in second gear 15ks from home so it was a long slow ride back.
When I pulled the left cover off I found this spring on the shifter arm broken.
I have now pulled the fly wheel off and removed the whole assembly and was wondering if there is a stronger spring I can install?
I cannot find the broken parts of the spring so guess it is floating around in the sump somewhere.I did find a tiny shard that looked like it has gone through the gears so I will drop the oil and hopefully the bits are stuck to the sump plug magnet.

Re: 1989 900SS JAMMED IN SECOND GEAR
have you seen the gear selector bulletin in the FAQs?
You`re lucky with the broken spring. Other reasons for a jammed gear could be an issue with the shifter forks or the shifter drum.
Fingers crossed all parts land in the sump and not in any bearing.
