I am sorry to inform you that Audi (VAG) has bought Ducati for 860 mill. euros.
By this deal the Germans has bought all of the Italian motor industry.
Its a sad day. I hate VAG!
But then again...

Re: Aucati?
As Audi is a financial strong concern it might be a good thing. I assume they will never give up the brand name. Main reasons for the purchase are;
- Design
- Strong brand
- Technical know-how on engines
And also, Auto Union has had a motorbike in it's past being NSU. And with the Ducati brand they now can fight BMW motorcycles on the racetrack again.
Think it is better than the FIAT group however I liked the deal with the Alfa Romeo Brand. (driving an AR 159 sw myself)

Also prefer a Rheinlands Management model instead of the Anglo Saxon model where all is based on revenue and spreadsheet terrorism instead of passion and workman skills.
We will see . . . .

Re: Aucati?
More correctly DKW took over Audi in 1928 and in 1932 Auto Union was formed with Audi, Horch, Wanderer and DKW. NSU were taken over by Auto Union in 1969 and Auto Union had already become part of VW. After WWII, DKW continued in East Germany as MZ. It's all a bit complicated.Ducolaf wrote:
