....come this two BRAND NEW (NOS) cylinders for the complete restoration of my F1 next winter:

I have almost weeped of joy when I've got these out of the box, in their 25 years old original factory packaging. Even the wrapping tape is a small treasuer itself.....

Just out of the box:

Brand new set of cylinders. Even so brand new that the vertical one has painting applied where it shouldn't (!): on both base and top end seatings.

Isn't live really beautiful some times???? :D

P.S.- I still don't now if the old cylinders are still in working order because I have not dissasembled them. If they are, these ones are going to be part of my home's decoration.

congratulations on your purchase, I have never seen the inside of a ducati cylinder, that bore looks uncoated, is that the case?
and do all air cooled motors have a steel sleeve instead of the coated alloy cylinder found in the paso? :dunno:

Maybe the pictures may make them seem somehow different, but externally they look exactly Paso cylinder with the "scanimet" (italian version of Nikasil) hardening treatment.

I know it because I've replaced the front cylinder of my Paso this winter and, although they have different PN, they look exactly the same (I'll check with my old Paso cylinder).

higgy... I don't know what you're smoking.... but I wnat some!!!! (Looks funny) :D

You`re right Claude, no idea what higgy was thinking. It would be so much nicer to insert a socket and use them as a lamp

Nice find baronrojo

...only joking higgy
I just found a new meaning for mobile...NOUN: "a piece of sculpture having delicately balanced units constructed of rods and sheets of metal or other material suspended in mid air by a wire or twine so thet the individual parts can move independently, as when stirred by a breeze"

now a ducati parts mobile makes sense
I should be the one smoking the funny stuff :smoke: :drunk:
I posted the reply in the wrong section

Certainly, more expensive than that, BUT Paso/Sport cylinders PN's are different from the F1 ones.

I've an out of tolerances Paso horizontal cylinder and I'll check the differences (if they are)

You can have the cylinders bored oversized and replated. It's costs about $300 per cylinder here in the USA. I had a cylinder replated 3 years ago when I had broken rings on my F1. They were able to strip and replate/coat with Nikasil.

Runs like a champ!!!
