I was looking for some info and came acrosso to a new (!?) product developed by IGNITECH: the IGNIJET for DUCATI

http://www.ignitech.cz/english/ignijet/ ... ducati.htm

yep it is pricey, BUT , less than the OEM (Modern IAW1.5 - 5.9)

unfortunately the OEM version has the inmobilizer and cannot be programmed unless you have specific tools (and knowledge)

having said that, I think the 907 engine is good as it is, with its defects and the only thing of the bike I would change (actually I did) is the Brakes as the original (on mine at leatst) were absolutely crap.

I also think so, the 907 is a great improvement over the 906 (I have had) in every respect.
About brakes, it's enough replace the front master cylinder.

Ciao

Yep, but I went al little bit further and I replaced also the calipers (all 916 Brembo Serie Oro, including MCs) and hoses (the ST/ST Braided version is an huge improvement) AND a nice set custom made Discacciati cast Iron Rotors with matching pads; overall the best 700 euro ever invested in my 907ie

Didn't some ducati rider kill themselves because the cast iron rotor or rotors shattered?

my 89 851 ran very nicely with a p8 and possibly a std 888 eprom from memory. i had to ride it once and the original ecu was away.
So P8 work on P7 engines but they have to have a P8 chip.

I`ll test a P8 w custom maps on mine this weekend.
Tamburinifan, how did you go with the brain change...did the bike go any better?

never heard of this one.

the only issue with cast iron is that you need specific pads.

btw, the rotors on the Paso750/ 906 were cast irons.

The important thing is that you follow the advice regarding the minimum thickness, but this applies to any type of rotors.

I did the same thing, fitting the 999's radial m/c and Brembo full floating rotors.
I'm very happy and my red 907, with 300 mm. rotors, brakes much better than the black 907 with the stock brakes.
Ciao

Have plans to do just that in 2011

Brainheads? Nah,just a bunch of motorheads discussing the age old addage,"chicken or Egg?" All in good fun.

No, we just tested it on centerstand.
But it works, we tested my ECU wizard friends chip w 16 maps on this ECU also
and switched maps while running.
Tunerpro & Emulator functioned as well, could read & alter maps while running.

W a P8 on a P7 bike, you must take an P8 chip and fill in f e 907 fuel & ignition values.
P8 has different hardware inside, outside hardware same. It has also different hex files.

Next project could be to see if a car P8 REALLY works on a Duc.
Read that tip many times but not seen anyone actually do it IRL.

omg higgy, I`m somehow disappointed. I was sure after all this discussion you would put a Weber on your 907ie

Hmmmmm,I do have a few around :choo: and the 906 runs much better than the 907

Nah,would be out of character for me to do such a thing as I know you are aware. While I have nothing against someone needing to have the latest whiz bang "improvement" I prefer to make the best of what I have, what ever that may be

Needs a clutch at the moment, soon as our small engine AC dyno gets commissioned( next year at some point, we have several small engine eddy current dyno, but they are not exactly what's required) I plan to work on the mapping. It will get better. Better than the Weber on the 906? We will see................
