Thats $404 for a front and rear. Are you in Sydney? Love to see your sporty, even if it's in bits. I just finished rebuilding mine. It now starts and goes when I want. Lucky for me my old A59 still has a bit of life in it, but ten years old. Not so confident in the bendy stuff. Sam.

Mate, if it's nice weather on sunday morning, I could have a quick run through the national park and wind my way down to the Gong. Not sure how to safely get your phone # or address. I may as well give the old tires one last run. Booked in to be re booted on Tuesday. Yay.

true story of nes tires :)

In June 2011, I found myself in need of replacing the tires on my 750 sport, after many phone calls to Ducati, Michelin etc., I could not find a legal solution in Italy, unable to mount sizes other than those provided.
Talking about this with a colleague and friend Mario Napo, these are found to work with Mark Goldentyre, and with it, they decided to give me answer to a dream, to remake the tires 130 and 160/60 zr 16. in November 2011, they failed to have them for the EICMA, but January 14, 2012, the "first" pair of tires was mounted on mia750 sport (on facebook there is a photographic report), then from May 2012 the tires were distributed in Italy, atttraverso site: http://www.goldentyreracing.com/index_ita_norm.htm
Section scooter mod. GT 79 and GT 71.
Thanks to Marco Goldentyre, Mario Napo, the old Ducati fans, will return to use them with the correct coverage.

Not so good news in the USA - I contacted Delticom in Portland, Oregon about the future availability of these tires, and got a reply from a customer service rep that they aren't currently available, and future availability (at lease through Delticom) can't be confirmed.

Either he wasn't willing to put forth the effort to check with Goldentyre (their website indicates that they sell Goldentyre products), or he was giving bad news for those of us in the USA!

We may have better luck ordering them through Goldentyre reps in Canada, even though shipping and customs duty may make them quite expensive.

Anyone else in the USA have better news???

gt70 and gt71 tires are produced by Goldentyre Italy, contact them directly and find together if possible, a solution.

Goldentyre Italy refuses to ship anywhere else but Italy.

Their distributor in Germany is uncooperative - 'just wait, we'll contact you when available (Corporate Nonsense), you cannot preorder, bla bla german rules are the rules etc'.

If Goldentyre doesn't take some action with their distributors they will have a mess on their hands,
because their actions reflect on Goldentyre also.

International laws I reckon-not just specific to Italy or Germany. Company rules governing business across borders.

@plasmid

We will find a way to get these tires to the US. One of us here can send you tires, there may be some customs, taxes and costs of transportation, but I doubt that this will be more expensive compared to a regular provider in North America (and as far as I understood, there is only one in Canada so far).

@all

As G. mentioned before, I am rather concerned that they will find out that the demand for these kind of tires is very smal. If I think of distibution costs etc., it may be hard to make any money with the production of these kind of tires. Hence, the chance that there will be a second batch some day may be smal. Buying now two or three sets is not helpful, because giving the mileages we do with the Paao, the second set is already quite old when the first one is used up.

I wrote Goldertires an email asking if there are any plans to make a second batch in the future. I willl you keep updated, even though I am sure that they do not know this currently and rather watch the demand of the first batch.

all the best, Hardo
