88 Paso swingarm u-bolt
88 Paso swingarm u-bolt
Does anyone know where I might procure a u-bolt for the swingarm on an 88 Paso? It's the saddle/u-bolt that wraps around the rear axle eccentric and secures to the swingarm. Ducati part # is 037040225 but I don't seem to be able to source one.

Re: 88 Paso swingarm u-bolt
The silence is deafening ... apparently not available anywhere? I couldn't find a source. I appreciate of course that they're not actually "bolts" but rather saddle clamps or similar, but Ducati calls them U-bolts in the parts manual. Anyway, at the moment used Paso swingarms are fairly easy to source. I bought a complete swingarm with rear axle, eccentrics and saddle clamps on eBay for $40. It was listed for a 906, but the parts book shows them to be the same number as for the 750 Paso.

Re: 88 Paso swingarm u-bolt
40 bucks aint bad and the u bolt should be the same . I think the swingarm assy is the same for 906 ,750, not sure tho . Mostly peeps want the actual arm because either the rear sprocket bolts gouge an arc in the arm when they come loose (hint there ) or they cross thread the bolts holding the ubolt on and butcher the threads

Re: 88 Paso swingarm u-bolt
The swingarm is indeed the same for the 750 and 906, so the caps are identical, thankfully. Funny you should mention the rear sprocket bolts; they were all loose. Did not know that was a thing with these, now I do. Also fun has been sourcing the 42x16x20 rear wheel bearings. Not available through any of the bearing houses, who tell me it's a "European" fitment. Found a set of new old stock FAG units on eBay for $7.50 each. Should be delivered today, with luck they're not so old the grease has completely solidified ...

Re: 88 Paso swingarm u-bolt
Usually means they cant be bothered looking for them . I once took a pair of Fiat gearbox bearings to a bearing supplier who measured them up and told me ( no shit) " they have never made bearings like these son " , same guy also told me an oil seal I was looking for " wouldnt suffice technically " ..........we had a brief chat about his parents and sexual preferances before I left

Local bearing house is usually pretty on top of things, but yeah ...
FAG bearings found on fleabay arrived and are like new and correct. And a fraction of the price of any of the normal channels.
