What normally happens when the chain either derails or breaks is that it rolls up on the front sprocket until the diameter is such that it pushes the crankcase out of the way .... I didn't know that, and it's an interesting theory, but it suggests to me that those metal case savers are totally usel...

If I need to replace it. I wonder if 906 cylinder will fit 907?? I have had a Motobatt AGM battery in mine since I purchased it, and just replaced it with another Motobatt. The original lasted a bit over 3 years, and would still be good now, but that is another story. I won't press you on that then Nick as I likely have a similar story involving an Odyssey batte...

Any advice or thoughts on the following welcomed : I will strip n clean the clutch slave cylinder as advised but are there any known fixes for what seems a heavy clutch .... bearing in mind Jaz argues ferociously she is over 5' but really she's a bit tiddly .... so whilst dog leg levers will help t...

Or maybe just run some Fuel Preservative and Stabiliser through it. If it's still available, the POR15 is pretty good stuff for cleaning gummed up fuel systems.
