Be sure to insulate the wires with a decent sheathing especially if you run them back under the seat

Just removed the upper windscreen and headlight
and found an easy to get to place on the wire to mount the relay and wiretie it to the mounting frame for the front part of the fairing

Antti, I would start with the secondary wires and plugs.I make them up with accel brand 8mm which is available everywhere here but there are many others Usually a good visual inspection goes hand in hand with a resistance check. So it sounds like there is a short in your ignition switch or wiring or the fuel pump relay has a short in its wiring.
Or the typical loose or bad ground is feeding back through one harness or the other

I think it is heat that sacks the spring so yes oil would have its part to play. Dont know if the st type oil slinger would help

If I had to guess I'd say after months of sitting air in the fuel line Would be the likely cause or maybe a sticky or shot Check valve in the pump Quickest way to figure out fuel issues as Im sure you know is a pressure gauge And this assumes the more mundane and common issues are not in play....clo...
