Re: Cush drive question.
Sprocket bolts and Disc bolts are supposed to be made from high-tensile steel. As such their strength is not from being tightened to a high torque but that the bolt will not bend under load. It doesn't sound as though these bolts are made from the right stuff, as by your description the bolts have d...

Re: Cush drive question.
Speaking as a Paso owner who has ridden literally thousands of miles on his, the sprocket bolts don't 'jiggle'. They are bolted to the carrier, the carrier sits on the cush drive rubber and the cush drive sits in the wheel well. All this tensioned by the axle bolt. Don't ride it - take it apart - th...

Re: Hello all, new member here.....looking for some directio
Electrics are a bother but I think it is mostly due to the electric starter being somewhat new for the marque at the time. As you know, a 900 Darmah was kick-start and the Paso starter is only 0.7kw or 58 amps. Thats not much for a 900 twin. I have been thinking of buying a Lithium Ion battery for m...

Re: My First Paso (Hopefully)
That first Paso looks a lot like stolen/recovered. All the damage doesn't add up to a crash and the parts that are missing or broken must read like a grocery list. Heaven alone knows what happened to the engine.

Re: 750 Paso in the Barber Museum
Sylvester Stallone has a 750 Paso don't you know.
P.S. The Honda NR750 Road was not an oval piston engine but Ellipsoidal, it was only the racing NR that had an oval bore.

How come the screw thread is stripped? You haven't touched it - must've been him.

Interesting stuff, how did you disassemble the bearing assembly? People can be ham-fisted at this so a few tips will help.

Re: Paso 906 mystery
I don't think your '750' frame number is anything unusual. My 906 frame is numbered 000755 and as the other have said, each Paso variant has its own particular feature. If yours was a converted 750 you would know.

Re: Breaking down 906
Call out to all 906 owners with original weber carby could someone please have a look and tell where the breather pipe ( fuel vapour pipe ) from the fuel tank goes to. The sticker on my tank says its supposed to go to the canister, in workshop manuals there is a reference to it also. Mine just hang...

Re: Speedo drive tab washer threw in the towel ...
Make sure your speedo and cable is well lubed :) Ha ha, that always makes me laugh. If you have ever dismantled a speedo drive gearbox for the Paso you will find out that the lube 'nipple' closed by a bearing is a dummy. It doesn't feed to the internal splines. The only way to lube the drive is to ...

Re: Sprocket carrier bearings
I forget, anyway I heated the whole assembly and placed a 19mm socket on the exposed bearing and hit it with a lump hammer while holding the assembly in my hand. Which almost qualifies the job as 'by hand'.paso750 wrote:the bearing races are steel and the sleeve is steelAluminium expands more than steel

Re: Sprocket carrier bearings
Put the complete assembly in the oven at a low heat for half an hour. Aluminium expands more than steel. Then, wearing a thick workshop glove, hold the ass'y in your left hand. Place a large socket over the bearing and give it a hefty whack with a hammer. It will move. I have never found the freeze ...

Re: Paso thrown to the floor....
Fiberglass can be repaired but it has to be done with fiberglass. As previously noted the fibers have been pulled and broken and at first it looks impossible. A professional will use a hacksaw blade and carefully saw into the split to sever all the loose fiber, closely following the contour and path...

Re: The story so far
I am interested to know how much the front wheel heats up with fixed steel rotors. My rotors are floating and the rotor temperature can be ferocious. Haven't measured it but over 200c easily. Naturally there is no heat transfer from a floater but your disks might.
