Re: 907 for £900 !!!!!
I agree it will always cost money with any second hand bike, because after all nobody sells a bike in peak condition. I have time to do the work and enjoy fixing old bikes. Never spent more than £650 on a bike. Non runners are the best as typically the fault is electrical, and for some reason electr...

Re: 907 for £900 !!!!!
Looks like pasos have not hit rock bottom yet price wise.
Always wondered why they are so cheap given that they are such good bikes if maintained

Re: Fuel Pump
I bought a fuel pump for 907 a couple of years ago from http://www.fuelsystem.co.uk
It is of less diamater than original pump, but as part of the kit there was a foam plastic insert that allowed fitting in the original holder in the tank.

Re: What do do with those bl*%dy brakes?
If the master cylinder is very worn, then a new seal can make things worse. I have had this happen before on a clutch, originally was soggy, new seal kit - result no clutch at all. Solution was a new master cylinder. As far as bleeding, I have always had success with the following method which requi...

Re: Gia.Ca.Moto Exhaust
I have a full Gia Ca Moto 2-1 on my 750 paso. It was on the bike when I bought it.
It is the best sounding bike/exhaust system I have ever heard. Loud but inoffensive so my neighbors dont complain.

Re: Operating temperature
Thanks for the info. Not sure about ECU and such. My bike runs a simple thermoswitch for the fan which is independant of ECU operation. I think I will run the bike for a while and see how it goes. Running too cool or too hot can lead to trouble but I get the impression that the bike prefers being co...

Operating temperature
Had a thermostat from an Aprillia 1000 installed with normal operating temperature of about 85 centigrade. I recently fitted NOS thermostat which was genuine ducati 851 and this has a normal operating temperature when driven of 75 centigrade with an air temperature of 7.5 centigrade. The bike when s...

Re: Tri-color on E-Bay/USA
Whilst straight black and red are nice colours, is there anyone with some artistic talent who could submit a colour scheme that is not obvious but which would also be considered beautiful or elegant. The tri-color above is not beautiful, but could any such paint scheme on this bodywork be applied su...

Re: Strange electrics?
The two main electrical problems on bikes relate to bad earth connections (which tend to kill components) and corroded connections which cause components to stop working. Sounds like a combination of bad earth and corroded connections in this case, with the new bulb providing an alternative earth pa...

Re: Timing belts...sometimes you can be lucky
Belts like tyres have aramid fibres in them. The aramid is elastic and will stretch somewhat with changes in acceleration. Over tightening the belt will mean the aramid is already stretched, hence no damping effect and breakage. Same as any other material really, except aramid stretches more than mo...

Re: Timing belts...sometimes you can be lucky
As well as the belts, do like in the car industry and change the tensioner as well. The tensioner on my VW golf starts to moan just about when the belts are due for changing. Giving that bike engines run on average a higher RPM then it is worth changing tensioners also. Something worth noting is tha...

Re: Tri-color on E-Bay/USA
My bike needs a repaint. My wife would say I have no taste, but I like this paint scheme. The lazy option would be to paint it red again. Black is an option I like. Would a vertical tri-color work do you think? Anyone artistic with an idea of what would look best on a paso? Or should I just let a pa...

Re: looking for airbox pics
My bike is apart for servicing at the moment so I will take some pictures.
I am away until Tuesday, so it will be a after then before I can take and upload.
Do you need any measurements or other info?

Re: Preserving new old stock tires
I dont think it is possible to stop tyres degrading, just slow it down. Oxygen, ultraviolet light and the polymerising agents will all continue to work over time. I read somewhere that a tyre looses half its grip by the time it is 5 years old due to natural hardening processes, and will therefore be...
