Ohlins spring part number for 906
Hi Gert, Any way to find out, reciept etc? It is so hard to find any info of this. Sorry for the delayed reply - I had to clean my desk to find the receipt...... The spring part number quoted on my invoice was 1099-24-80. I've run this shock for a while now including a couple of long trips and some ...

Re: 906 /750 paso swingarms
Mate, Sounds like it's sorted then :) Let me know if drawings / photos of my adaptors and such are of any use. I stuck with the paso speedo and made up an adaptor to mate the SS wheel drive plate to the paso speedo drive. Machining the fork leg was too much for me :) With a 120/60 front tyre the spe...

Re: 906 /750 paso swingarms
Mctool, For the chain alignment on my 906 with a SS rear wheel I ended up keeping the OEM SS rear sprocket carrier and just shimming the front sprocket to align it all. I forget the dimensions - I'll check next time I get a chance to take the cover off. Mine is the 4.5in 750SS rear wheel though........

Re: i need some help.....no tyres!!
McTool - Good luck knitting mate. Love the kiwi pic on you user profile thingy. andreatoffali - for the 906 there are proven options for both 17in conversions and alternate tyres on the 16in rims. Best first to decide if you want to keep the original 16in wheels and the original look of the 16in whe...

Re: paso newbie
Hi Gert, I'll have a look and see if I can find anything - the last guy to do the same did post something about the spring but I can recall.... The shock only has remote preload, not a remote reservoir like the MZ. It is adjustable otherwise the same as the MZ. But I suppose the big difference (asid...

Re: paso newbie
Hi All, I'm running a P750 Ohlins shock on my 906, but had the same concern as Gerhard. I had the shock reworked by an Ohlins guy anyway since it was second hand so told him what I was planning with it. Gave him the bike weight difference etc and he re-sprung it (and maybe also re-valved it?) for th...

Re: Rear Sprocket bolts all sheared off
Mobius,
Cool, I'll take a look at the fracture face photos closely tomorrow, but I already think I saw some tell take beach marks that seem to point to fatigue along with the final overload area. I only glanced so should not be so conclusive already.
Anyway, cheers,
Mick

Re: Rear Sprocket bolts all sheared off
Mobius, If you have a good photo of the bolt end on, showing the cross section where it failed, it can be possible to say if the bolts failed in a brittle or ductile fashion. This can help identify the root cause. One thing I've had problems with before (not on bikes but in my work) with high tensil...

Re: MotoLectric Starter Cable upgrade - what a difference!
Hi all, +1 that this is a quality kit. Nice guy to deal with also. Before I installed it my starter and main earth connections had some type of silicone grease on the connections (applied by previous owner - thanks!) so the connections were is good condition already. No corrosion. Same battery befor...

Re: paso brakes
Hi,
I ran sintered (HH?) pads on my 916 for a while (with cast iron full floaters). Went through pads quickly and I found the feel pretty aggressive.
Also they would rust almost solid onto the discs after it rained
Cheers, Mick

Re: Swapping wheels to 17inch
nnnnnnorman, Actually, in hindsight I think 16in with different tyres is cheaper and easier as well (especially for the 906 with the wider crankcase and better chain clearance). But the Paso is the workhorse in my garage - the over indulged 'show pony' is the Supersport ! So the Paso gets form over ...

Re: Swapping wheels to 17inch
Hello, I went the 17inch wheel route - this way I have the same tyres and (almost same) geometry on my Paso and Supersport. I have tried 120/60-17 with 160/60-17 and will switch the Paso to 120/70-17 to match what I have found works best on the SS. And I think the 17inch wheels look better :) Looks ...

Re: New Paso Owner
Based on the production numbers in Ian Fallons books, assuming no other models than the 750SS and M750 used the ZDM748A2C prefix (no aware of any - someone else might know?), then that puts that engine somewhere late in the 1992 production year I think? M750 Monsters were post 1995/1996? So could we...
