Re: Making a good thing better...

Hi Claude, congrats with your bike. very, very nice one. the Silver finish of the header looks great. is it corrosion resistant? expierences? When I look at mine 907 at the moment I'm happy she wears her dress :-( there are a lot goodies laying around, but somehow she has the lowest priori...

Re: Headlight glass removal

when you buy the Yamaha "Twin light" you have plenty room to add some LED lights between the reflectors. you only need to make some kind of supportive brace.

Re: Ducati 907 ie Tool kit

Rhino,

dismantling something is easy...........
sorry to hear about your physical situation. :(
but....maybe this is a solution for you. A fast blast with a slightly modified 996R.
you can outrun the segway.

To be honest I hope you recover that you can enjoy the comfty 907. :D

Re: Ducati 907 ie Tool kit

G. shut up. your spoiling Rhino's wet dreams :-P in totally there are 2 engines. both are dismantled. during the restauration we build in a brandnew SP4 engine. Re: Ducati 907 ie Tool kit

one day I'll buy one 851/888 as I have 2 SP3 engines in race trim.
but at the moment I spend every € in my machine shop to get that finished and be able to make chips.
BTW Rhino, she looks great, despite the pink.

Re: NEWBIE

Russel,

that's a wise decission to have the bike serviced and checked for major things.
later on you can do the maintenance or mod's by your self in your own pace.
nearly everything is in the forum.

cheers, Bertus

Re: Battery standby life

I use a Varta AGM battery, which has a higher CCA rating over gel or dry battery's.
these battery's are a little more expensive, but worthed IMO
I'm very happy with it, and doesn't need additional charching. well. in the winter I hook it up to a charger.

Re: Ducati 907 ie Tool kit

Hi Rhino,

didn't know there were so much small differences.
looking at the quality makes tears popping in my eyes.
your 851 is equiped with M1R fork? or already with a Showa USD?

Re: NEWBIE

Hi Russell, six months won't affect the tranny. when you try to engage, are there any unuseally sounds? does the clutch disengage? you can see this when you remove the clutch covercan you move the gear lever by hand? if you can and you don't feel a defined click (whether up or down) there can be som...

Re: Battery standby life

Hi Robbie, the clock will drain the battery very rapidly. the strange thing is that some bikes ar not suffering this problem. mine did suffer the problem as well. within a week the battery was dead. I cured it by pulling the orange lead going in to the dash. this stops the clock from running. lights...

Re: Ducati 907 ie Tool kit

G,

Well, in that case watch Ebay carefully. I can see the point of getting it completely original.
is the 907 tool kit different than other toolkits from that era? just wondering

Re: Ducati 907 ie Tool kit

forget about the toolkit.
your 907 will drive perfectly without a toolkit.
even with a toolkit in place no one will notice.
it's all between our ears :banghead:

Re: Ok I surrender how do you get the fuel pump out

Hi duc750, the whole assembly is holded by 2 clips/springs, but it is a PITA to remove as the clips are strong and more or less bonded to the sleeve holding the pump. A long time ago I had mine removed for a spray job, but I still remember the fight. putting in is a little easier if you use a kind o...

Re: Breaking in the UK

I've seen their posting on Ebay. some parts are priced more or less normal. other prices are plain robbery. rear shock: sometimes you see a repair kit on Ebay.de for ± € 50 I thought. new rear shocks are made by Wilbers in Germany. I've replaced mine for a Dutch Proflex shock, shortened the stroke a...
