Re: I got a Paso in my garage!

This is a really easy cam to copy, just file the short stubby end to 10 mm (3/8" long) and parallel with the bottom edge of the cam. Then the overall rise in the gradient of the cam is 4mm (3/16 ").Both surfaces are filed flat,no curves, with the exception being the join of the two surfaces ,...

Re: I got a Paso in my garage!

give me a day or so and I'll measure it exactly.Whats your altitude there? that might explain the current jetting. We are only a couple hundred ft above sea level ,otherwise your climate is very similar to ours.

My latest is 165 mains 185 Air correctors 56 idles.185 mains is far too rich. J

Re: I got a Paso in my garage!

Yes it should be feeding from the float chamber through that little hole and into the pump housing, via that hole in the top left above hole 'A' ,with the brass non return valve in it .I'm tipping that the little ball in the non return valve is jammed, you should be able to shake the carby and hear it...

Re: weber what if ?

A quick update. After a couple of months of trials I went away from the fuel bleed idea and blocked the hole up again.Instead I decided to revisit my jetting combinations, which had remained basically unchanged since the modified pump cam solved most of my tuning issues. without the extra fuel from th...

Re: K&N weber jets

If the backfiring is on the over-run at lower speeds, and you have no airbox,(just the oval type filter on top of the carby),it is probably one size too large on idles, but this opens a whole new can of worms as you may have to go up a couple of sizes in mains to compensate,or risk creating a lean hol...

Re: Paso 750 missing

I wish there was either a viable replacement for the fuel pump that was a plug and play solution or a way to eliminate the item from the circuit. But for now, I'll just ride 'till it fails. Try your local Auto parts store,I found a cheap fuel pump that bolted straight up to the existing mounts and ...

Re: metzeler website recommends lasertec 150 80 16

I'm running the 180 metzler ,couldn't be happier. It was the front tyre that made the biggest difference to the handling,a more rounded profile done the trick, rather than the fatter ,flatter profile. I have an Avon azaro 170 / 70 / 16 on now and its a different bike to ride, and it seems to be gettin...

Re: Oil for 906 paso

The mobil one v twin,I think it was 20w50, was way to thick for my 750,an instant loss of free revving and sluggish,I had to dilute it with some castrol 4t ,to make it useable. The difference was so dramatic that I was afraid of causing damage, and it was too expensive to throw away.I would have thoug...

Re: Bogging issues??????

Hi Vince, here's a couple of ideas. I'm assuming that this is a new problem, not something that has been going on for a while and that you have the stock weber fitted ? First try some new plugs, and check your leads and other ignition wiring isn't loose or shorting out. second check your idle jets ar...

Re: crank bearings knocking?

They don't look like anything thats been gouged or crushed, more like thin bits of aluminium left over from the casting process ,broken off by what ?,most likely a rough operator

Re: crank bearings knocking?

It's not induction noise Witzie ? the carb makes a funny noise under load on my bike at those rpm,not really a knock more like a subdued exhuast note. The guaze strainer on the pump inlet will stop all of that plastic crap in your oil getting into places it shouldn't,so it's unlikely to cause too mu...

Re: weber what if ?

I know I mentioned this in an earlier thread but the importance of it has really only just hit home with me,so I'll say it again. It is critical to the proper operation of the weber (and easy to do). The idle speed adjustment screw setting is critical to a smooth operating bike. When you have it righ...

Re: weber what if ?

Tried a lot of combinations of jetting while I've been waiting for my new pump cams to arrive. Jfiore's combination of 60 idle 165 mains and 185 Air correctors,is a very nice combination, more responsive up top than the combination of 170 mains and 185 air correctors that I was using .With no pump sh...

Re: thread chasing

What class tap ? class has nothing to do with quality, but tolerance, sloppy/tight fit.Different lubricants have a small effect on tolerance as well. J
