Re: Rebuilding my 907 ST3

So. Back @work! Different name, but still the same...

I managed to bring the circuit of the forward brakelight-switch back to work...
So i disasembled the cans, tank, fork, and so on again.

Tomorrow we are going to carry it up from the basement in the garden for final assembly...

Re: Rebuilding my 907 ST3

Thank you very much, guys. The next 2 weeks i will be off, preparing my impriso... ehm...wedding.
After that i will reopen the wiring harness to find the forward brake-switch issue. But then the final assembly can be started.

Re: Rebuilding my 907 ST3

I have still an issue with the wiring of the forward brake-light-switch, but the whole rest of the harness works fine.

And i could not resist. I had to try.

Re: Rebuilding my 907 ST3

I live 100km away from Lübeck, at the baltic sea, too. I like the handling of the 907 very much, maybe because of my length & weight (2.12m & 110kg). So the only option was the stronger motor. But the 4V-engines do not fit that well, the casing & tank have to be heavily modified. Cross y...

Re: Rebuilding my 907 ST3

Why do you think you would have a better running gear? :-)

Visit me in Germany when the bike is ready. I think that one will be good enough for me...

Re: New member (and Paso 750) from Sweden!

Welcome in the madhouse!

There are very nice mufflers for the Paso available. For example the Conti-cans. i like them most. I think there is a cheap brand new pair on ebay Australia available from time to time...

Cheers, Johannes

Re: Rebuilding my 907 ST3

With the new zinc-plated bottom-screws for my M1R-fork (seemingly unobtainable screeewwwws...), i could start w. the assembly of the fork. I needed some days before i found out, why the rebound was so slow. The short powerful spring in the right tube blocked a hole in the tube... I painted the legs ...

Re: Rebuilding my 907 ST3

Both mirrors were broken. 15042012870.JPG The mirror-parts are unobtainable, exept the whole assembly. Noone here in northern germany was able to supply these pulvinate mirror-glasses, that i could change them for myself. On saturday i stumbled over a pair of mirrors by accident. 10€ each. The mirro...

Then is was the headers` turn. They are good, but not good looking and too much heat emitting on the reat Wilbers damper and also heating up the space in the fairing.
Thats why i wrapped them in ceramic fiber cloth:

Re: Rebuilding my 907 ST3

Just giving a short status w. some pictures. I did a little progress the last days. My exhaust cans are ready. The old titanium tubes had dents and were not nice looking any more. I replaced them w. carbon fibre tubes. I tried some hours to get the damn thing open, after drilling the rivets nothing ...
