Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue
Thanks Higgy. Updates: - Compression test (cold) is 130psi front and rear. - Applied new engine oil and filter therefore I'll await the Weber service parts before a hot compression test - Float offset was at 42mm. Adjusted to 46mm. - Pressure tested the needle float valve and it may have a slight le...

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue
Thanks Higgy. Things are starting to unravel. The good: - 13volts + supplied to each coil (Battery is 13v plus too) - Plugs are new (still sooty), checked, cleaned and refitted as they're new - Weber\Carb, all the jets appeared clean so I blasted them out anyway and refitted - Carb float, float valv...

1989 750 Sport idle issue
Hi All, Seems like this forum has gone a quiet however I'll put a post out and see if anyone can assist. I've owned this bike for 10 years and in most part has run very well. About eight years ago I changed the Aux Venturi from 3.5 to 4.5 and stepped up the 'main' and 'AC' jets on the DCNF44 Weber t...

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. I'm not aware of a sealant either, just thought I'd ask before pulling things apart.

Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss
I went with the later model 900 ss mirrors, I think they might be more functional and look pretty right, swapped the fuel tank internals to the freshly painted tank as well. IMG_20230204_000422_(1024_x_768_pixel).jpg @Highway - Looks brilliant, you've done a great job! Could I please ask what seala...

Re: 1988 Sport Fuel pump and reserve float
Thanks Higgy. I purchased a newer model sender (part 59210161A) which supposedly fits \ works with this model from a retired parts seller in the Netherlands. He's got old parts needing to be cleared out and well priced considering what other people are charging. Parts haven't arrived yet but they ap...

Re: 89 750 Sport Sprag Clutch
Thought I'd respond to this old thread. I took a different angle on the matter as the previous lead acid battery expired. I upgraded from a cheap 110cca lead acid unit to a sealed lithium battery with 220cca. The lithium battery makes the old lead unit look like a joke.......and most importantly it ...

1988 Sport Fuel pump and reserve float
Hi All, I've got a minor issue in which the ring float within the fuel tank doesn't float anymore. As a result the reserve fuel light remains on. Has anyone got any advise on how to (home) fix the float or whether there's any reasonable pump, filter and float kits out there to renew it all? I've tem...

Re: 89 750 Sport Sprag Clutch
Thanks for the feedback. I don't have the tooling for this and I'm probably better off paying a mechanic.
Can anyone recommend a good operator to carry out the work in Metropolitan Melbourne?
Obviously experienced with these bikes and I'll supply the parts.

89 750 Sport Sprag Clutch
Hi All, I've had my 750 parked up for a while and recently changed the oil and belts to start riding it again. Overall the bike runs great however the sprag is getting worse. With cold starts in particular I'm getting more and more sprag slip. Once warm, it starts without issue so I'm undecided whet...

Re: 750 Sport Coil Choice
Testing came back at 4.5ohms on each coil. This coil claims to be suitable quoted at 4ohms but isn't a brand I've heard of. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271621597212?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Other posts claim the 3 or 5ohm Dynatek will do the job. If the 3 ohm Dyn...

750 Sport Coil Choice
Hi All, It appears to be time to update the old coils on my 89 750 Sport. It has a Marelli Digiplex ignition fitted with original light grey coloured coils and hard wired leads. Can anyone advise which of the following would be most suitable? Should I get 5ohm or 3ohm? Would the following be suitabl...

Re: Laid Up 900SS and new member!
are all the DC10-1 COILS the same yes they are. On ebay you also find DSK6-2. DSK6-2 is a whole ignition kit for Harleys consisting of two DC10-1 coils and some other bits. Some sellers offer the coils of this kit seperately for around USD28 ea. Although not correct they name them DSK6-2 coils. Hi,...

Stored bike start vs regular starting
Hi, I have an original 89 Sport running a Webber DCNF 44 carburettor which gets ridden perhaps once a month on standard 91 octane fuel. I generally charge the battery a day before riding and check it over before hand. If it's been sitting for 4 - 6 weeks it takes at least 6 to 8 attempts before comi...
