Re: Thermostat repair
Just chiming in to say that I replaced my failed thermostat over a year and 3k+ km ago using the method described in the OP. A new ST2 t'stat was the donor. No silcone used on reassembly, the new O-ring from the donor and some care peening down the clamping ring was all that was necessary. Works a t...

However key information is at a number of locations and I found myself going round and rou...

Re: 907IE Radiator Hoses
Finally got around to ordering a set of these samco hoses. Went for the red. 270.23 to my door in 5 days Ditto for me. Had them on for coming up 2 years now and have to say that it's been great not having the nagging worry of 20+ yo rubber hoses. Also running Evans waterless coolant with the system...

Re: Ducati Diagnostic Instrument
Thanks for the responses guys. Haven't looked at the bike for a week or two now, although I did quickly run a compression test on the rear cylinder; 125psi. So that's doesn't seem likely to be the problem. As I mentioned in my op, there is a big fat spark at the rear cylinder, so I'm discounting CDI...

That makes sense, thanks.Derek wrote:Can't help you with the diagnostic but I think if the crank or timing sensor has failed it will affect the spark and injection to both cylinders.

Ducati Diagnostic Instrument
Hi everyone My back cylinder has gone quiet. There's plenty of compression and spark, so am thinking there may be some kind of timing (crank angle sensor) or fuel issue. My workshop manual talks about a diagnostic tool; blinking light variety, plugs in at the engine management unit, to check t...

Re: Waterless Coolant experiment
Evans does make the engine run a fraction hotter I was curious about this and wanted to ask a while ago after reading that in the technical datasheet. (Then age took over and I forgot.) How much difference does it make? Hi. I've neen running the Evans in mine for a while now and haven't noticed any...

Re: 907IE Radiator Hoses
...Ouch!! even tax free (245.95 BP) translates close enough to $550 Aussie dollars... nice hoses, I bought the samco hose kit for the 851 back in 2013 for a very reasonable AU 200 bucks :) Just ordered mine and they're on their way according to Royal Mail tracking. Re: 907IE Radiator Hoses
I've just stumbled back across this thread and will probably go ahead and order a set. Do we have any feedback from those who have done so already?
Now all we need is someone to remanufacture the heard tank.

What a horror thread.

Gday Mike, I see you have been getting a little work done by Belt & Bevel, good bunch and always out to help where they can. I recently (12 months ago) wrote my 907 off but still have a few bits and pieces lying around if you want, and am conveniently located in Canberra too. In particular, I h...
