Hi Hans,
There doesn't appear to be a stock issue in Australia \ Melbourne. I've checked a couple of local suppliers online and can obtain a set if needed. That being said, my tyres are are 11 years old (DOT0413) and covered 5000kms therefore I should plan a tyre update in the near future.

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue
I'll do some further tests at another stage. I had the gauge connected just before the carburetor banjo so technically it should be at it's full operational pressure point. That being said some pressure would be absorbed by the return line too. Main thing for me right now is that the 750 is operatio...

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue
Perhaps. The current pump pushes fuel at a rather slow rate. I pressure tested it and was only receiving 1 psi from the gauge. That being said it works well enough........the gauge is a cheapy from eBay so it's accuracy could be questioned too. I've since fitted new fuel lines and decent clamps so i...

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue
Thanks MC. Yes, there's a return line to the tank (no reg) that diverts via a small t-junction midway to the carburetor. My return line is only about 180mm, again fuel pressure doesn't appear to be an issue. In fact too much pressure brought me issues when I attempted to renew the pump. I suspect I ...

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue
Idle issue fixed.......I went on a 70km ride today and it ran perfectly. I'll leave things alone for the moment until trying the vacuum pump solution.
It's actually nice to have it back on the road again.

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue
Update: The Weber has been serviced and checked over with a brand new float, pump diaphragm and needle valve. The technician performed various bench tests and could no longer detect a fault. The standard fuel pump remains to avoid introducing new problems. After some minor idle and air adjustments i...

I mentioned brass as a replacement and the Tech recommends the plastic \ original fitment. I'll go with him on this one.

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue
To be perfectly honest here, this is just a wild guess, and probably totally irrelevant to your bike but the 906 pasos have a fuel pressure regulator in the fuel feed to the carb where excess fuel is returned to the tank, does your bike have a similar system fitted, if it does does the regulator wo...

read this thread on vacuum fuel pumps https://forums.ducatipaso.org/viewtopic.php?t=6800 Hi Higgy, I like this idea, looks simple and efficient. Any common issues being introduced? Would this pump be suffice? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/235340342050?hash=item36cb60a322:g:kokAAOSwgdlleApR&amdata...

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue

Wasnt untill I parked the car facing steep uphill and I couldnt start it at all.....I could see fuel welling up out of the air correctors and straig...

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue
Fuel pump hasn't changed and should be fine. Famous last words :phone: :banghead: LOL, sometimes I wonder why I even own this thing. Can anyone suggest the correct source to buy a new fuel pump that actually works with the Weber? Part number "43040021A" according to the parts book. I purc...

The Weber has been dropped off to a local specialist for a full check up, pressure test and service. I briefed him on what's going on so hopefully he finds the issue.
My hope is post service it's back on the road, if not I'm selling!!

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue
With the float level reverted to 42mm........I tried these bench tests. Test 1: I manually tested the float valve by blowing air through the inlet while tilting the float down (gravity only) and the air valve closed. I do believe the valve works fine but I don't have adequate tooling to pressure tes...

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue
FAILED. Applied a service kit with a new needle valve and set the float to 46mm........it was worse than before. Therefore a second batch of brand new oil&filter was ruined within a couple of minutes of running and attempted tuning. It stalled after turning the choke off and I left it alone. I o...

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue
After a refresher course \ read through the Weber thread last night I've concluded there's no silver bullet with the setup. We all need to factor in climate, riding styles, air filters, exhausts, fuel from different parts of the world etc..... The bike ran fine with the previous set up but my float ...
