Re: latest issues
Yes Gowanlochs or Ringwood speedometers for recalibration.
Re: Batteries
Yeah they have a good name for durability. Found them hard to get lately.
Re: Batteries
A volt meter is a good thing. Batteries rarely let you down of themselves unless they're cheap crap. Its more likely faulty charging systems and neglect that let batteries down. The compatibility of regulators is an issue in regard to LiFePo4 (lithium) batteries. In reality the lithium bat...

Re: 1988 Paso - First Ride
Congratulations! Knocking or ticking/clicking sound? A ticking or clicking sound (besides a loose valve clearance, leaking inlet manifold or leaking header joint), can be the motor's vacuum pulses making the flat slides "click" back and forth in the carb body. Flat slide carbs really suit ...

Re: 1988 Paso Ignition Issues
Curious what your plugs have to say. Also interested to see how it runs with the Mikuni flatsldes back on. If it is indeed an ignition problem and its not the Ignition modules (Kokusan boxes?), plug leads, wires to ignition modules or a bad coil, then that only leaves the pick up coils/flywheel trig...

Re: Ducati 750 sport 1990 project
G'day Craig Those manifolds are not a matched pair imo. The VM carbs are horizontal carbs that probably dont want to be angled past 20-25 deg. Also, the VM carbs like low fuel pressure from a carburettor vacuum pump or gravity feed. Any more than 3-4 psi will flood the carbs and cylinders (or cases!...

Re: 750S Brought back to Life
I got hold of two used slant bodied horizontal FCR39's with choke (enrichment) knobs designed for dirt bikes. Powerbarn provided a 2 into 1 throttle kit and Niche Cycle supplied manifold boots. After some fiddling they work well (on an M750 modified to dual sport). MikuniOz can sell everything to bu...
