Re: 750 Sport restoration project
I wonder if soda blasting would help removing the spots. I cleaned some old corroded carb bodies from my Alfa once. The result came quite good. It makes lots of dust though. I tried soda blasting today but it did'nt work.I'm wondering if the original paint did it or the paint stripper stained it?.I...

Re: 750 Sport restoration project
ok, you asked for it. Go back out in the garage, look for a wire and tie that rear caliper to the frame - now. You may also replace that rag in the engines swingarm bushing with tape as the rag won`t really protect from dust. Nice engine stand btw. :) So what`s the story about the other b...

Re: What Oil?
I've run 20/50 mineral in all my bikes ( except the bevel and that could change soon as well) and have never had a problem.I'll be putting the same in the Sport when it's time.

Re: 750 Sport restoration project
Having several bikes you probably have a rear wheel stand. If so you can use that as a motor stand. Maybe don`t use a hammer in front but something more stable :) http://www.ducatipaso.org/myPix/mixed/Motorstnder.jpg (found on the internet) G. Good idea G.I might knock something up similar :thumbup...

Will have another go this year, have come across someone who makes it regularly, so with some expert assistance we should be good. Cheers, Fraser. Your shout then Fraser ;) ...

Re: 750 Sport restoration project
Lot of work to keep an alloy finish POR-15 would be easiest and quickest. When it comes to bringing long neglected items back to life POR rocks and is very durable  Clean it, hit it with metal prep and paint it They also make a product called Glisten for alloy finishes. I have never used i...

G, The molasses works on aluminium also. There are lots of products that can do the same job (and also a lot quicker), but none cheaper or safer. You also get this sweet yeasty smell from the mixture, bit like home brewing, plus the amazement from your friends as they look into your black mysteriou...

Re: Saved her life
Ok, I need to do some measurements to get to the bottom of this spacer thing. I hadn't seen the one on the back left of the engine before. Also, the spacers look small to me. I'm wondering how many versions of the frame they made now. I'll measure my spacers to see what I have. Mine is a California...
