Re: 1989 900ss crankshaft
Hi Sammynb, Good luck with your project. I can confirm that the early 900SS had a less wider crankshaft than the later white frame or bronze frame 900SS. From memory I think that crankshafts are interchangeable but you need to get all the parts like rotor and alternator cover and such from a newer m...

Re: Later USD triple trees on 89/90 frame
If you use the original stem which matches the steering head, the location of the bearing part on the stem matches the locations of the bearing part in the steering head. That is of course if you use the original spacers. I did try to use the later USD stem but could not get it it work. I tried spac...

Re: Later USD triple trees on 89/90 frame
Hi, Currently I’m doing the same. I’m using the original stem pressed in the USD triple tree. That should allow the original bearings and spacers to be used. Not sure if the steering bumpers need to be removed/filed off. Assembly is planned as the new bearings arrive somewhere next week. Cheers Joep

Chain guard swing arm 750 Sport requested
Hi,
I'm in need of a replacement for the chain guard on the swingarm of my 750 sport.
Who has surplus or knows where to get this part? Or any other ideas that may lead to DIY solutions, alternative types, 3D printing and/or machining of this part?
Many thanks in advance!
Cheers Joep

Re: Monster cylinders&heads on Sport engine
Joep, sorry for the silly question but are you sure those "jets" weren't just installed upside down? Just asking because they have a smaller hole on one end. (at least mine do) No. I had them in my hands, so I could see both sides. I also noticed different oil jets on the Stein-Diense web...

Re: Monster cylinders&heads on Sport engine
Hi,
I noticed different jets (donot know the correct name) in the oil channels which had different internal diameter. I think this has to do with the different oilflow requirement for the different setups ( oil cooled VS air cooled)
If it also effects the oil pump, I did not investigate.

Re: 750 Sport cylinder replacement
Hi,
Please note that Some early 750 ss were stricktly air cooled and not oil/aircooled as sports and pasos.
There were Some changes in the combustion chambers as well. Possibly leading to different pistons?

Interchangability cilinders early 750ss and 750 sport
Hi, Yesterday I found out that my new second hand engine from a '91 750 ss was stricktly air cooled. There is no casting around the cilinder to hold oil as on a 750 sport. The early 750 ss versions even came without a oil cooler (it was an option). I found out reading some literature. In noticed on ...

Dellorto spring above the slide
Hi,
Who knows the required strength of the carb slide(?) spring of a 36mm dellorto.
I can buy different types of 1.1 to 1.4 kg
The carb slide will be directly connected to the throttle cable.
Thanks in advance
Joep

Re: 750S airbox what are all those hoses ?
Hi, My Sport has the reed valve as indicated on the picture. I also believe all the tubing and such on the left are for some hydrocarbon vapour control to lower harmfull emissions. My Sport has not been fitted with that. In addition to the topic of airboxes. I came acrosss the 400cc sport which has ...

Hi I was looking at an old video clip of 851 on youtube. If you search on: "Test 851 Racing Tricolore Misano 1988" on youtube you wil find it. In the clip you will also see a bit of a F1, Paso and a close-up of a what i believe is a 750 sport at 1min 43s. It has a grey or silver frame. I h...
