Re: ST2 transplant process

Nothing is more infuriating than carefully laying everything out in the morning, putting all the appropriate parts in little labelled plastic bags only to unbeknowingly drop one of the little orings - unfortunately the smallest one that was totally silent as it bounced out the garage door and out o...

Re: Fork Service/Rebuild

One thing , Make damn sure the bike cant fall off whatever you are using to hold it up . I have seen more than once where when the weight comes off the front suspension, bike front end drops and the whole plot rolls forward off the stand and falls over , and if its on a bench/table its a long way to...

Re: Cleaned up Carb

Dunno if you noticed but down the page a bit from the chinese FCR's there is a reasonable looking jet kit . One of the things some peeps thought helped was 4.5 aux venturies ( Have you read 'Weberology " search here for it ) but they were not available apparently ( lots of peeps looked ) and th...

Re: Cleaned up Carb

Depends on the ignition . If you have the weber marelli box then you should have a vacuum line , but some bikes had Koukusan modules ( one for each cyl ) and they Dont have a vacuum line . I think some of the P750's had the Koukusan , my 97 SS did . Kiwi , that "bit rough when getting back on t...

Re: Cleaned up Carb

The 2 brass nipples on either side of the manifold should be T'd together and routed to the ignition module . These are vacuum lines so the ignition unit knows manifold vacuum and can adjust whatev . The T in the fuel line , wherever it is ......the idea is to reduce fuel pressure and by mucking rou...

Re: Exhaust blues

Oh, being a USA import the headers are smaller diameter than the rest of the world. So, finding a set in Aus wont fit... I can see why the bloke was keem to sell :( How sure are you about that Pete ? (Im not :) ) The flange is the same size and apart from that they are just slightly bigger dia . I ...

Re: Exhaust Blues

If I had a choice I would def go for the bigger ones . I used to know a guy who ran a Ducati workshop and raced belt drive 2 valvers and he swore that the 1st thing to do was upsize the header dia and re-jet Im understanding that the 2 into 1 is a bit naff . Do you have to fit some tested or certifi...
