Re: alternative fuel pump

I guess its an upgrade in the sense that its newer and doesnt reqire a reg or a return line . One of the theories about the poor carburetion was that the electric pump puts out to much pressure , whick it does but it was rumoured to cause over filling the float chamber . Some peeps fitted a decent r...

Re: spacer between airbox and velocity stacks necessary?

William, the length of the inlet tract , which is from the back of the inlet valve to the end of the tract ie the top of the stack , is taken into account when tuning ,20mm doesnt sound like much but it would make a difference . There is a formula that gives minimum distance between end of bellmouth...

Re: Water pump seal

Water pump seals are weird . They are a carbon face seal , same as most dishwasher pumps ,and they can be like a naughty kid . Mine was fine till I parked it up for a few years, then it leaked everytime I ran the engine for no reason .......and then it didnt....and did . I would drain the coolant (k...

Re: 88 Paso swingarm u-bolt

Usually means they cant be bothered looking for them . I once took a pair of Fiat gearbox bearings to a bearing supplier who measured them up and told me ( no shit) " they have never made bearings like these son " , same guy also told me an oil seal I was looking for " wouldnt suffice...

Re: 88 Paso swingarm u-bolt

40 bucks aint bad and the u bolt should be the same . I think the swingarm assy is the same for 906 ,750, not sure tho . Mostly peeps want the actual arm because either the rear sprocket bolts gouge an arc in the arm when they come loose (hint there ) or they cross thread the bolts holding the ubolt...

Re: Paso 750 MARELLI coils output voltage?

Hi Antti , Im not sure how you plan to measure Coil output voltage with an insulation tester. I think the thing to do is to check the primary and secondary windings and compare them to specs , the primary winding is real low , like 0.3 ohm ( so dont think its a misprint in the specs ) this alludes t...

Re: Issue e with clutch.

I would check the springs unsprung length to make sure they are even . I get the feeling that when compressed the pressure plate is tilting slightly , some paso pressure plates had a spigot that fitted into the end of the input shaft but I dunno just how effective it was . Probly also pay to check c...

Skate board bearings , I made my brass mushroom out of an 8mm brass bolt , just thinned down the head a bit and chopped shank to length( width of bearing )

Re: Issue e with clutch.

Its possible that the outer most seal ( some call it the rear seal ) in the mc is leaking , but when they fail it usually allows air to be sucked in as the lever is compressed and then when lever is released that air is then pushed past the piston and into the "working pressure area " ( th...

Re: 2 into 1 exhaust header

Hot tip , when fitting rear header pipe make sure its positioned ( there is a bit of wriggle room ) so the chain doesnt rub on header. Mine did rub (after I fiddled with it) but only on left turn in a high gear at low to moderate revs ...made a tinkling noise...I thought it was pinking but couldnt f...

Re: Issue e with clutch.

Maybe all the air is not expelled during bleeding , they are a proper bitch to bleed . I usually push the fluid up from the slave to the mc. Also pays to dismount the mc so as to orient it so bubbles dont get trapped around the bango fitting on the mc.

Re: Timing belt parts for 1988 Paso

Ducati parts are expensive, but there are altertives. The two bearings on the moving tensioner are available from bearing shops . The other wide, small dia bearing might be a bit harder ,I have often thought of finding a cheaper option but .......never got round to it

Re: Timing belt parts for 1988 Paso

Dude , if you have a bit of mechanical savvy you will know how to check a bearing for roughness . I carefully picked the seals out of mine flushed out old grease and repacked them ....probly didnt need to. Far as I know all the belt drive two valve motors have the same tensioner bearings so they sho...
