Re: Bike Stalls Once Warm and over 5500 RPM
well...first up - the bike will run FINE with about 1/2 a pound of crud in the filter. if fuel flows - it goes. I guess it could starve under certain semi-blocked conditions but it should die in a running out of fuel manner, not just a sudden "eeep". Similarly, it should give a starve situ...

Re: Voltage Regulator
I had one that the alternator warning light was not "useable" with... It was an "aftermarket" unit fitted to the 907 before I bought it. We picked up an AC "spike" on oscilloscope and discarded it when I was trouble-shooting the misfire (thinking the AC might upset the ...

Re: 900SS fried regulator...stator check??
thanks guys...the whole thing has gone well. I didn't megger the stator; nearly did but took the risk...so far OK. there was an additional 30 amp fuse near the battery that had blown - and probably saved the stator the unit I bought was a lot cheaper than through Ducati and is a genuine Ducati part ...

Jaffa
100 (one hundred) CC engine.
99% of the local bikes there are less than 125CC; occasionally you see a 250.
there were a lot of 250CC in BalikPapan; I even saw a police escort of the local Kawasaki 250CC club - about 200 bikes!!!

Amazing project bike - off topic
off topic...but you've gotta see this... perhaps you'll sneer at the work as "bush mechanic" but these pictures were taken in East Borneo (Kalimantan - Indonesia) in a tiny village where the bike was built up by a local mechanic. in case you didn't notice - neither front OR rear wheel has ...

Re: 900SS fried regulator...stator check??
thanks Higgy... what I need are the ohms (no, not the Buddhist monk "ommmmm") and AC Voltage figures for say 1200RPM & 4000 RPM usually these will have a tolerance, too... I want to check the stator at running temp to see if it's intermittant short the bike was cruising at 100km/hr whe...

900SS fried regulator...stator check??
Guys... my 907ie is just fine...but I've smoked a regulator on my 1997 900SS from what I can determine the alternator's a single phase (two yellow wire) unit - same (or similar) to the 907ie what I need is the test figures for the altenator to make sure it's not an internal fault..I don't wanna fry ...

Re: Remote Radiator cap option....???
well, I bought one and fitted it... it lives above the plastic filler tank and can be accessed / opened / filled by removal of the front fairing around the headlight... some minor plumbing required...but at least the hoses are available...the Ducati OEM hose will be difficult to replace. I will post...

Re: No spark - both cylinders
Bomber's post about relays remineded me of something... the wiring to the relays (spade connectors) are not positively retained. I found that plugging the relay into the block can cause the spade connector to be pushed down if the male and female connectors aren't correctly aligned... this can cause...

Re: No spark - both cylinders
the fuel pump and the ignition / ECU are totally independant (except that they run off the same battery) - if the initial "bogging" was due to the fuel pump it didn't cause the spark to go away. there is a possibility that the testing for spark has burned out the ignitors. these are locate...
Re: 907 EPROM
in terms of "performance" there won't be much between the two...
it might be observable on a dyno or in CO emissions testing; unlikely that the chip alone will make that much difference.
the U21 is suited to staintune and Termi exhausts

Remote Radiator cap option....???
I found this cap on the net which might be a good alternative to the CB600 unit comes with a 0.9 pressure relief (saves finding another cap) http://www.frozenboost.com/product_info.php?products_id=1064 any thoughts from those who have done the conversion??? I'm just about to convert and am having tr...

Re: 907ie misfire - maybe a cure???
...OK; I guess that "fixing" a broken sensor is a "fix" in itself... but I do have one really really good question... How did you test the MAP sensor worked after you glued it to fix it? did you apply a vacuum? if so - what pressure? are you sure the MAP sensor is still working (...

Re: MY 907 SPUTTERS AND STOPS AFTER 15 OR 20 MINUTES!
Hiya Higgy... feel free to rant BUT...leave out persuasive comments like "only a fool..."; there are valid resons not to change filters if you change fuel system components...like the injector or regulator - which is down-stream of the filter, anyway... in the post he says he's changed the...

Re: MY 907 SPUTTERS AND STOPS AFTER 15 OR 20 MINUTES!
and one more thing...the filters... I've been conned with the filter change thing a few times... the filters are very rarely the cause of a fuel problem; if the fuel flows it's NOT the filter. The fuel still flows and maintains 3 bar pressure even if the filter is full of crap choked solid. sure, ch...
