selling my blue 906
44,930 miles, Cobra F-1 muffs, corbin seat, scott chain oiler. Carb jetting updated; smooth idle and acceleration. Arthritis in hips means I can't put my foot down very quickly if needed, so for safety, my riding days are over. Williamstown, Massachusetts, email: bluepaso906@hotmail.com

Re: Rear Sprocket bolts all sheared off
When replacing the rear sprocket, I discovered that the item listed in the JT Sprockets catalog is not correct - at least for my 906. They have a 6 hole bolt circle instead of 5. (JTR491.40 is the one you want, not JTR 735.40) However, Sprocket Center carries the correct part, but you have to call i...

Re: Rear Sprocket bolts all sheared off
I woke up in the middle of the night: Has anyone tried left-hand thread socket head cap screws for the rear sprocket? I don't follow the automotive scene but at least in the past, left hand lug nuts were used on the left side wheels of 4 wheel drive utility vehicles just because something about the ...

Re: Rear Sprocket bolts all sheared off
Recently, I have been hearing a random 'click' sound while riding my 906 and didn't have a clue as to what was causing it, as the motor has been running as sweetly as ever. Just before a ride a couple of days ago, I checked the oil level in my Scott Oiler ( Highly recommended addition to the bike) a...

Re: Any golden tyres/Shinko tyres left?
I am putting Shinko tires on my 906 this spring. I had my local ( Honda ) shop in western Massachusetts order them for me because they are good people and if they mark them up a bit that's OK; they also mounted them. I haven't been out yet - new tires in the rain - but the tread is deep enough to al...

Re: 906 clutch mfg. 1989
NEWS FLASH !!!! As a retired machinist, I tend to save mechanical bits. The first clutch overhaul I did years ago was with a Barnett kit, and noticing that their springs were longer than the OEM ones that I took out, I swapped them in, thinking that the originals had lost some of their bounce. Durin...

Re: 906 clutch mfg. 1989
Thanks, McTool; I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when the one sided friction plate was not in the kit. I ordered from a well established Ducati dealer who had to get it from Italy ( ! ) For the price I suspected that those little yellow flakes in the friction plates were made out of gold. I tol...

906 clutch mfg. 1989
My blue 906 is registered as a 1990, but the sticker on the frame indicates June of 1989 as the date of manufacture. The clutch plate count and thickness on these early 906's seems to be different than the rest of the bikes that have the slave piston on the left side of the bike. The slave piston on...

Re: paint code for blue paso
After a tip-over and subsequent repair, I had the whole bike done with a color from the 2012 Honda Civic ( ! ) catalog. The color is pretty close, though my wife may quibble about that, but it also has a subtle metallic in it that I really like. Happily, the shop next door to the painters also did v...

Re: Clutch issues
As I recall, one time I unscrewed the bolts holding the brake rotor onto the wheel as well as the caliper mounting bolts, and bled the brakes that way. Is that true love or is that cheating?
